The central Vietnamese city has gone 21 days without community COVID-19 infection
Authorities in Da Nang on Tuesday issued a decision to allow the resumption of sit-down service in restaurants and coffee shops from Wednesday as the central Vietnamese city has gone three weeks without a community infection case of COVID-19.
Restaurants, coffee shops, and food joints can provide service on location as long as the number of customers does not exceed 50 percent of their capacity and their operations last no later than 9:00 pm daily.
All workers at these establishments must be tested for COVID-19.
Daily medical declarations and pandemic prevention measures must be strictly implemented.
Beach-going activities are also allowed from 4:30 am to no later than 7:30 am and from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm every day.
Gatherings and street vendors on the beach are still prohibited.
Hair salons and non-contact outdoor sports activities such as walking and tennis are also permitted.
Restaurants, coffee shops, and food service providers in Da Nang had provided takeout for a month as per the municipal authorities’ order for COVID-19 prevention.

Following the permission for the resumption of sit-down service, many restaurant and café operators became busy cleaning and rearranging their establishments on Tuesday afternoon.
“After this outbreak, we don’t know how to measure people’s spending ability, so I will only partially reopen and hire a small number of workers to reduce operating costs,” said Nguyen Chi Thanh, the owner of a seafood restaurant on Ba Thang Hai Street.
“I hope that from now until the end of the year, the pandemic will be repelled and the entire population will be vaccinated soon to stabilize production and business activities.”
Da Nang has not recorded a single community coronavirus case for 21 days, with its tally documented since the beginning of a new wave of domestic infections in Vietnam on April 27 standing at 158.
The Ministry of Health confirmed 64 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday morning, including 41 local infections in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang Provinces, taking the national caseload to 9,222 patients, with 3,549 recoveries and 55 deaths.
As many as 6,045 domestic infections have been recorded in the country in the ongoing round.
