To Duy Lam will step down from his position on Monday
The resignation letter of To Duy Lam, director of the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), has recently been approved by SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong.
Lam will step down from his position on Monday, as per the approval. He quit his banking job as well.
To Duy Lam, born in 1967, had been assuming the deputy director position at the SBV’s Ho Chi Minh City branch for 10 years before stepping up as the chief of the branch in June 2012.
In 2017, he was reappointed to the chief position, being offered a five-year term starting June 20, 2017.
Lam also served the 2015-20 term as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
In light of Lam’s departure, Nguyen Hoang Minh, born in 1961, deputy director of the SBV’s Ho Chi Minh City branch since June 2008, was chosen for the chief vacancy.
Before his rotation to Ho Chi Minh City, Minh had 10 years of experience as the deputy chief of the SBV branch in southern An Giang Province.
