There were no casualties reported in the incident
Firefighters timely rescued two foreigners trapped in a fire at a hotel on Hoang Viet Street in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City on Friday night.
According to preliminary information, the city’s Fire Prevention and Control Department received a report of the fire at around 6:00 pm on Friday and immediately sent firefighters in Tan Binh District to the site.
The firemen had to ask for assistance from their colleagues in Phu Nhuan District and District 11 as the had broken out in a temporary storage room on the fifth floor of the hotel with many flammable items inside, posing threats of spreading the blaze to the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, many people were staying in the burning facility at that time.
A total of three fire engines and two ladder trucks were mobilized to the scene and dozens of firefighting officers managed to rescue the victims, including two foreigners.
The firemen successfully put out the blaze around 7:10 pm on the same day and prevented it from spreading to other floors of the hotel and nearby houses.
There were no casualties reported in the incident.
The fire damaged an area of only ten square meters.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
