The testing site was established at Hong Ha Elementary School in Binh Thanh District
Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City are looking for people who came to a COVID-19 testing site after a patient was recently detected.
The People’s Committee in Ward 17, Binh Thanh District issued an announcement on Sunday evening to seek all residents who came to the testing site at Hong Ha Elementary School from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on June 2.
These individuals are required to contact local health authorities for health declaration and further testing.
The decision came after the testing site was linked to a COVID-19 case.
The venue has been temporarily closed for fumigation.
On July 1, Ho Chi Minh City began carrying out mass screening in many districts with an aim to collect one million samples per day.
Due to shortcomings in the organization of multiple testing sites, vice-chairman of the municipal administration Ngo Minh Chau on Sunday directed competent authorities to promptly solve these issues.
Residents in each neighborhood must come to corresponding testing sites at designated times to prevent the gathering of large crowds.
All people at these locations have to be socially distanced.
Health workers in charge of collecting samples must be professional and experienced and have access to sufficient medical equipment.
Vietnam has documented 20,261 COVID-19 cases as of Monday morning, with 7,819 recoveries and 86 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health statistics.
The country has recorded 16,782 local infections in 55 provinces and cities since the fourth transmission wave started on April 27.
Ho Chi Minh City currently leads the country with 6,209 cases.
