The victim was found in a kneeling position with his limbs being tied in the balcony area
Police in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City on Friday afternoon apprehended a 32-year-old man hailing from the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre in relation to the death of a 26-year-old man during an alleged rough sexual intercourse.
According to preliminary information, local residents discovered Tr., who is from Tien Giang Province, had died in a house at Alley 180 on Nguyen Huu Canh Street in Ward 22, Binh Thanh District at around 8:30 pm on Thursday.
Receiving the report on the case from some locals, the district’s police officers arrived at the place for scene examination and collecting CCTV footage and testimony.
At the scene, the victim was found wearing a black T-shirt in a room with several segments of parachute cord and tape.
The first witness said the victim was in a kneeling position with his limbs being tied in the balcony area. His head was kept down and wrapped in black tape.
Extracted footage from the CCTV cameras installed at the alley and testimony given by the locals showed that a male suspect came to the victim’s place on Wednesday evening.
At around 11:45 pm on Thursday, the police officers detected a suspicious man that looks like the one in the CCTV footage near the scene and detained him for clarification.
At the police station, he was identified as V., a 32-year-old friend of Tr. from Ben Tre Province.
V. said that Tr. invited him via a text message at around 9:00 pm on Wednesday to join a game of BDSM practices — which stands for bondage-discipline, dominance-submission, and sadism-masochism, a spectrum of sexual activities that include pain, physical restraints, and unequal power relationships.
According to V., he and Tr. had played the game several times before.
At around 11:00 pm on the same evening, V. rode a motorbike to Tr.’s aforementioned place.
The 32-year-old man said that Tr. had prepared “tools” for the game before his arrival.
He simply followed what Tr. asked him to do, including binding the victim with parachute cord, covering the 26-year-old’s mouth and eyes with a wet towel before using black tape to wrap them tightly.
V. said that he then turned off the light, closed the room’s door and left Tr.’s place at around 0:00 am Thursday after performing all of Tr.’s orders and receiving permission from the victim.
V. made several attempts to contact Tr. on Thursday midday but failed, he said.
It was until V. went to Tr.’s place again at 11:30 pm Thursday that he was detained by the police officers.
The authorities are still working on the case.
