Subscribers can access the Vietnamese operator’s 5G network at 80 Nguyen Du Street in District 1
Subscribers of Vietnamese mobile operator Mobifone are now able to experience its 5G network for free at one of the carrier’s stores in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.
From Thursday, Mobifone subscribers can access the operator’s 5G network at its store at 80 Nguyen Du Street in District 1 and surrounding areas.
The 5G service offered a download speed of up to 1.4Gbps, according to the experience of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reporters.
Users do not have to pay for any fee and only need 5G-compatible mobile devices to connect to the network.
The mobile carrier is expected to launch 50 5G hotspots at various locations in Ho Chi Minh City next week so that more customers are able to try out the network for free.
The operator will also open experience zones offering high-speed Internet services using 5G platforms such as 4K and 8K videos, virtual reality games, AI learning, and Internet of Things (IoT) at several locations in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.
As of Thursday, three major players Viettel, Mobifone, and Vinaphone have provided free-of-charge 5G experience for their subscribers.
