Ho Chi Minh City authorities reopened more non-essential businesses on Tuesday except for bars, discos, and karaoke shops.
Businesses and services that are allowed to resume operations must make sure strict COVID-19 prevention and control measures are applied, the municipal People’s Committee stressed in a fiat on Monday.
All residents are still required to wear face masks in public, wash their hands regularly, and keep a safe distance with one another.
Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong previously required all beauty salons, karaoke shops, discos, pubs, bars, cubs, beer clubs, massage parlors, saunas, online game centers, wedding reception centers, cafés, theaters, cinemas, gyms, and other sports facilities to cease operations on February 9.
From March 1, non-essential services and businesses were allowed to reopen, but discos, bars, karaoke parlors, pubs, clubs, beer clubs, and sports facilities in an enclosed space remained shuttered.
The city’s administration added that all activities must ensure at least one meter of distance between people.
Eateries and cafés must not serve over 30 people at a time.
Religious activities must not include more than 50 participants at a time, while a one-meter-distance rule must be kept.
Vietnam’s COVID-19 tally stood at 2,524 as of Tuesday morning, with 1,920 recoveries and 35 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.
Ho Chi Minh City has not documented any local infections since February 11.
