Police in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City are investigating a case in which a dismembered body was found in a suitcase at a house in Tan Hung Ward in the same district on Friday night.

Receiving a report on the incident, police officers in District 7 immediately arrived at the three-story house.

They blocked the place to examine the crime scene and started collecting testimonies from related people.

According to police officers, the dead body was dismembered before being put into a large black plastic bag and left in a pink suitcase.

According to Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper, the house was leased by a foreigner, who unexpectedly terminated his leasing contract ahead of time on Wednesday.

When visiting the house on Friday afternoon, the landlord noticed a strong odor coming from the suitcase.

As the house owner opened the suitcase, he was frightened by the shattered body parts inside. 

The crime scene examination went on until early Saturday morning.
