Fog enveloped Ho Chi Minh City early on Tuesday morning due to relatively low temperature and high humidity.

The foggy weather was noticeable in many areas across the southern metropolis.

High-rise buildings could hardly be seen from afar, while driver’s visibility was also reduced.

Le Dinh Quyet from the southern hydro-meteorological station, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that temperature in the city dropped to around 27 degrees Celsius between 6:00 and 7:00 am on recent days.

A minimum of 30 degrees Celsius is the norm in Ho Chi Minh City.

Humidity was high at 85-88 percent, while sunlight and wind remained weak, Quyet continued.

“As a result, water vapor was trapped in the lower layer of the atmosphere, thus fog was formed,” the weather expert elaborated.

Meteorological conditions are still normal in the city, he added.

In the coming days, it is expected to be sunny during the day in Ho Chi Minh City, while showers and occasional thunderstorms are likely to occur in the evening.

The combined effect of the northeast wind and high tides will also cause inundation in multiple neighborhoods this weekend, Quyet stated.
