SPS Vietnam maintains ranking in Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam

For two consecutive years, the strategic sustainable agenda and effective actions taken by Swiss Post Solutions Vietnam (SPS Vietnam) have enabled the company to be honored in the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses – Trade and Service category by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD).

Launched in 2016, Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam celebrated the first five years of its journey in a ceremony honorably attended by Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, leaders from the government, and nearly 300 representatives from local and international corporations and agencies.

The evaluation of the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam was based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) containing 127 indexes in four areas: sustainable achievements, corporate management, environment, and labor force.

To be suitable for the future trends in Vietnam’s economy, CSI 2020 has been modified with new points to suit the requirements of such important free trade agreements (FTAs) as CPTPP – Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership – and EVFTA – Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement, as well as the significant changes in environmental and labor management policies that have huge influences on business operations.

In particular, issues related to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the activities in the National Action Plan to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development have been simplified and integrated into the CSI 2020 indicators.

SPS Vietnam, established in 2004, is a global document input processing and IT operational hub of Swiss Post Solutions Group. Its core services are complex business process outsourcing, document processing, and document management.

Among more than 500 corporations which passed the preliminary round supervised by a board of judges comprising distinguished professors in different areas, SPS Vietnam was selected as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in the category of trade and service thanks to its best endeavor to contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam via three goals:

No One Is Left Behind: 89 percent of people with disabilities of labor age in Vietnam do not have stable income and 65 percent of them are living in temporary accommodations.

Thus, SPS Vietnam aims to provide jobs and improve the working and living skills of disabled people by collaborating with Disability Research and Capacity Development (DRD) – a reputable and trusted NGO – to sponsor scholarships, set up a coworking space hub, and carry out training sessions.

Under the framework of the sustainability agenda, the Walk For Charity Program has supported the lives of 15 disabled people so far with the funds raised from nearly 40,000km walked by SPS Vietnam staff.

Among those who received such support, five were SPS Vietnam employees.

More than that, SPS Vietnam also cares about the younger generation because ‘children are the future seeds of the society.’

This belief has inspired the company to give back to the community by organizing annual Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children suffering brittle bone disease at Beautiful Diamond Center and for elementary school students in the poor areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

We Save The Planet: SPS Vietnam is concerned about the impacts of global warming and the company puts a lot of effort in changing its employees’ awareness and habits to limit the consumption of paper, electricity, and water by 5 percent annually.

We Promote Sustainable Economic Growth Stability is not only the guarantee of service level agreement to the company’s customers but also a ‘shield’ to protect its reputation in the eyes of its employees.

Amid the challenges from COVID-19, SPS Vietnam managed to ensure 93.5 percent of risks were covered by the risk management and analysis process.

Besides, SPS Vietnam has maintained smooth production, continued to operate 24/7, and especially upheld its commitment to customer service by maintaining virtually all quality and turnaround service level agreement thanks to the firm’s resilience and well-prepared business continuity plan.

Although COVID-19 has caused stagnation in the global economy, it never weakens the spirit of continuous improvement in SPS Vietnam.

Since 2015, the company’s continuous improvement program has helped its clients save US$6 million and has been rolled out to other entities of SPS Group.

Happily receiving the certificate of this regconition, Anatolijus Fouracre, CEO of SPS Vietnam, said, “Being in the top 10 most sustainable companies in Vietnam for two consecutive years is a great honor to Swiss Post Solutions Vietnam.

“This achievement is a driving force for Swiss Post Solutions Vietnam to leverage our strengths and push the agenda of Sustainable Development Goals forward for more impressive results.”
