The new air carrier was just launched late last month
Vietnam’s sixth carrier, Vietravel Airlines, opened ticket sales for commercial flights starting at 1:00 am on Tuesday following its inauguration late last month.
Travelers can purchase tickets at its website, www.vietravelairlines.com.
On this occasion, the new carrier offers 50,000 tickets at VND0, excluding taxes and fees, from Tuesday to January 25 or until tickets are sold out.
General Director of Vietravel Airlines Vu Duc Bien said that its first commercial flights are scheduled to take off on January 25, with routes to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue City in central Thua Thien – Hue Province, Phu Quoc island off southern Kien Giang Province, and Nha Trang City in south-central Khanh Hoa Province operating one to two flights a day.
The airline will increase flights and expand its network in the time to come, especially during the upcoming Vietnamese Lunar New Year, or Tet, holiday, according to Bien.
Vietravel Airlines recently added a second Airbus A321CEO to its fleet, with a third expected to arrive on January 21.
It is the latest air carrier in the country, joining Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO).
Vietravel Airlines has a total investment of VND700 billion (US$30.15 million) and a lifespan of 50 years and is set to provide both domestic and international air transport services.
A launch ceremony for the novel air carrier was held on December 26, 2020.
